A real fun frame which I made for Todd's partner's son, Lex. Lex is a big fan of Thomas, but since I cannot draw Thomas, I just drew the train and then aquapainted the drawn image. The only stamping is the (lex) big deal alphabet letters on the cars. I stamped first, then drew the car around the letter. Added on the car wheels at the end. Each letter has it's own car. You can do that with a shorter name {grin}. The engine and the caboose are so large. The images are based on the circus train images by Stampin' Up! I just prefer the cars to be going the other way, so I start with the engine - cut out my 2 inch high piece of paper and pencil in my drawing. Then I go over the drawing with a sakura black gel pen. It helps me paint within the lines and not have the image bleed. I do go over the painted image with stardust gel pens to have some portions of the trains shine. I love to add extra rivets to the images. I was going to use the new papertrey ink set to create train tracks, but I decided that would be too much detail and too busy. I wanted the train to be the focus. The plumes of smoke coming off the engine were just scraps of white cs, which I trimmed into poofie images. Then I used going grey ink on a dauber. I used a grey sakura pen and sakura stardust pen to draw swirls on the poofs of smoke. Attached with dimensionals. I outlined the letters with some white gel pens and sakura black and sakura navy stardust. Thanks for looking.
